We will begin with an initial assessment to discuss your situation and what you would like to gain out of therapy. During this time we may gather information on your circumstances and future hopes that could potentially provide useful for effective therapy.

Counselling is confidential, which means we will not share information relating to any client, unless they consent to that disclosure. This is subject to the constraints of the law and ethical practices, e.g. if a client were to disclose something that would pose a serious risk of harm, especially to a child, we may have no choice but to act on it, but we would ideally discuss this with the client first. We would also have a legal duty to report anything related to a severe act of crime or terrorism, or if we received a court order demanding such information.

Each individual is unique and everybody’s circumstances differ, so we never tie you to a set number of sessions that you must attend. It could be weekly, fortnightly or ad-hoc...you decide! We believe you will know when you have achieved the outcome you want, so we work with you, session by session. As you progress, you can decide when you have had a sufficient number of sessions.

24HR NOTICE OF CANCELLATION IS REQUIRED Your appointments are very important to us. They are reserved especially for you. We understand that sometimes appointment adjustments are necessary; therefore, we respectfully request at least 24-hour notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Please understand that when you forget, cancel, or change your appointment without giving enough notice, we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment slot, and clients on our waiting list will miss the opportunity to receive our services. Any appointment missed, cancelled, or changed without 24 hour notice will result in a charge equal to 100% of the session price.
